Discover how to accept challenges that come your way, how each person is on their own individual journey and how to find the middle ground that suits you.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • If you are a leader, manager or a coach somewhere along the line you will have made a conscious or unconscious decision to be in that position. The best thing you can do is lean into the situation and remember that you are on that path. The only thing challenging you now, is your journey ahead of you and by avoiding it, you will only open yourself to having to efface the obstacle later on. It is always about you and you have the power to respond exactly how you want.
  • Sometimes it is a great thing to understand that not everyday is going to be a great day. By understanding this, getting on with the mundane aspects and being a good person to the people in your life then you will be grateful for everything you have.
  • Remember that we have to deal with obstacles and challenges otherwise we are not growing. We need to manage our own challenges, if we have daily challenges such as nutritional, financial or fitness ones, we have to lean into them and find a way through them. Eknarth says it is by avoiding challenges that we develop challenges for ourselves. Often we have to chunk them down and take them on a little bit at a time to get through them.
  • Remember, as much as everybody is the same, we are all so different. The differences may be subtle but everybody is an individual and everybody is on their own path. It is those differences that make us what we are and we have to warm to those differences. Everybody has a unique way of doing things and we have to try and embrace things as best we can. The more we do that, the more people we can relate to.
  • It is always about trying to find the middle ground and that sweet spot. The sweet spot is different for everybody and varies at different times of our lives. Remember, we are always just looking for that ‘sweet spot’ if we can help other people find it too, then they will thank you and will see you as a great leader, manager and coach.

BEST MOMENTS

“The obstacle is the way.”

“Be the eye of the hurricane.”

“Strangely enough all the challenges that we face and all the things we think are new to us, are very likely not.”

“What a blessing that was.”
