Maurice Klein speaks with Peter Ivany AO, who as an Australian businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Jewish community leader, has had well over four decades of committed involvement and support in Australia's arts sector and much, much more.  Testifying as a prominent patron of film, arts and sport, Peter gave evidence at the recent Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion . Peter outlined his concerns of how Australian cultural institutions and boardrooms that had traditionally remained free from geopolitical friction and hostilities, were now post-October 7 and Bondi, having been captured by people whose ideology runs the organisation and business, are experiencing severe polarization and censorship issues, all pertaining to Israel and Jew hatred. Having observed this profound and deeply unsettling shift in the arts centring around Israel and Jew hatred, also pointing out the influence of performers and public figures weighing in on complex geopolitical issues, Peter outlines how there is now a push from some arts figures drawing up proposals for entirely new breakaway cultural organisations. Peter, also discusses, the current  Jewish International Film Festival (JIFF 2026), the Sydney Swans unequivocal support for the Jewish community along with the true Mensch, Gerard Healy,  and closing with Peter's Australian Jewish News article: “It was 1973 all over again" outlining the parallels he felt with October 7. Peter's final message in the interview is so important, please click on, take it on board and share it. Peter Ivany AO, another true Jewish blessing.
