Maurice Klein speaks with Michael Stein, author of "Good Can Always Come From Adversity”, the biography and journey of George Moshe Stein, his father. Born in Oradea-Romania/Hungary, at the age of 16 George, along with his family was transported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, George was the only one to survive. It's hard to imagine the unimaginable that happened to George during the Shoah, the horrors of concentration camps, the loss of loved ones, and experiencing the depths of human cruelty. Yet in the face of extreme, cruel adversity, George emerged as a symbol of hope, dedication, and perseverance for the small Brisbane Jewish community and many others. George's survival was not just a matter of chance, it was a testament to his courage and determination to make a fulfilling life with his wife Trudy and their five children, one that was devoted to Judaism, and Zionism and was a pioneer in championing Holocaust education in Queensland.
