Maurice Klein speaks with DJ Schneeweiss, Head of Planning and Strategy at the National Library of Israel (NIL) that is charged with collecting and preserving the cultural and intellectual heritage of Israel and the Jewish people, and bringing them to life. In the aftermath of the terrible events of Simchat Torah (October 7) last year and the ongoing wars with Hamas and Hezbollah, the National Library of Israel is embarking on a massive documentation and preservation project bearing witness to this crucial chapter of Jewish history. With the goal to craft a vast, reliable and open repository, reflecting a broad scope of testimony, documentation, social media coverage, and public information efforts that will serve the purpose of creating a national memory database, they are documenting the Israel experience and is also documenting the experience of Jewish communities worldwide.
