Malka Lawrence speaks with Councillor Carol Tannous-Sleiman, Hunter’s Hill Councillor, founder of Brave Voices, Chair of The 2023 Foundation and President of the NSW Liberal Women’s Council. Proud of her Lebanese Christian Maronite heritage, Carol has stood with Israel and the Jewish community since October 7. She led the successful motion for Hunter’s Hill Council to unanimously adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, and her advocacy has been recognised with an award from the National Council of Jewish Women. Carol has taken a stand against antisemitism, what it means to stand with the Jewish community, and why she is urging others to speak out.
