For 15 years, El Refugio, a hospitality house in south Georgia, has served as a refuge for families of immigrants detained just two miles away at one of the largest immigration detention centers in the U.S. In this bonus episode, Producer Julieta Martinelli goes behind the scenes on the making of “48 Hours at El Refugio.” Julieta shares her background as an immigration reporter, talks about this special collaboration with the Marshall Project, and shares some reporting that didn’t make it into the final piece.
