Schumer SLIPS, Admits JAW-DROPPING Illegal Voter Truth Before It Was Too Late

View descriptionShare

Joe Scarborough spent his morning lying to his audience about the SAVE Act. Then someone found his 2003 clip. It did not go well for him.

The SAVE Act has two simple provisions: prove you're a citizen before you register to vote, and show a photo ID at the polls. Both are already consistent with existing law — and both poll at 80–90% approval with the American public, including Democrats. But on Morning Joe, Scarborough told his viewers that Republicans "don't even allow your driver's license" to be used to vote. That is the opposite of what the bill does. What makes it worse: in 2003, Scarborough called giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants "absolutely outrageous" and accused California Democrats of buying votes. Same issue. Completely reversed position.

Chuck Schumer held a rally outside the Capitol flanked by pre-printed signs and an organic, grassroots crowd that definitely wasn't coordinated by outside PACs. He called the SAVE Act "Jim Crow 2.0," warned that Elon Musk and an algorithm would kick millions of Americans off the rolls, and argued the whole thing was a Republican power grab. Then, seemingly without realizing it, he said the quiet part out loud: "the evidence is almost no illegal immigrants vote." Almost none. A Florida city council race was just decided by one vote. Almost none is not none.

Senator Elissa Slotkin — former CIA officer, current U.S. Senator from Michigan — used her time at the Mark Mullin confirmation hearing to warn that putting "armed ICE officers at polling locations" would mean America has "lost the plot." ICE agents are law enforcement. They are all armed. That's standard. The fact that Democrats are specifically terrified of ICE agents being near polling places is, as Larry notes, a tell about exactly who they're worried about protecting at the ballot box.

Senator John Kennedy offered the clearest path forward: if the SAVE Act can't survive a Senate filibuster, pass it through reconciliation. Republicans don't need Democrats to get this done. And if they can't get the whole bill, Larry's suggestion is blunter — the next time a Democrat stands at the Senate floor and says "I support photo ID," hand them a one-page bill and make them vote on it right there. Call the bluff. Get something done.
