Pacific Gas & Electric says it's working to prevent wildfires, but it's going to cost you. The utility’s proposal for infrastructure improvement and other fire safety measures includes an increase in your energy bill. That’s on top of an already 20% increase in rates so far this year, another 18% in 2023, then another larger hike in 2026. And we have PG&E’s official statement.
