Scriptures

- I Corinthians 12:1 (NKJV) - “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.”

- I Corinthians 14:32-33 (NLT) - “Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can take turns. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.”

- I Corinthians 12:31 (NLT) - “So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts. But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all”.

- I Corinthians 13:1-3 (NLT) - “If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.”

- 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (NKJV) - “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit to anther the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

REVELATION GIFTS

- Word of Wisdom (vs 8) - Supernatural perspective for problem solving, decision making, and responding appropriately in a given situation.

- Word of Knowledge (vs 8) - Supernatural knowledge of…or insight into… a set of facts.

- Discerning of Spirits (Vs 10) - Supernatural revelation from God to detect the realm of the spirits and their activities behind a situation.

POWER GIFTS

- Faith (vs 9) - Supernatural confidence that God will do the impossible in a situation.

- Gifts of Healing (vs 9) – Supernatural healing and creative miracles without human aid.

- Working of Miracles (vs 10) - Supernatural power to intervene and counteract earthly and evil forces; Literally means a display of power that enables one to go beyond natural limits.

- UTTERANCE GIFTS:Prophecy (vs 10) - Supernatural proclamations, forth-telling or for-telling God’s intention, in order to encourage, strengthen and comfort.

- Different kinds of tongues (vs 10) - Supernatural communication using languages that exist in the world, or have spiritual origin, but were not learned and are not understood by the speaker.

- Interpretation of tongues (vs 10) - Supernatural power to reveal the message given in the unknown tongue; Not a reference to TRANSLATION…
