We’ve got a short and snackable finance episode today! I am joined by Josh Gilbert from eToro and we’re talking about a word we hear a lot in the media these days… inflation.

Josh breaks things down into simple terms to help us understand exactly what inflation is and the role that the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) plays in managing inflation in Australia. He explains what causes inflation in the first place and how the flow on effect leads to the rise of interest rates we’re seeing today. 

Right now, inflation is a lot higher than where we want it to be. Josh explains how it’s a delicate balance between lifting interest rates to stop people from spending so much money (and therefore reducing interest rates) and not tipping the country into recession.
