California 988 suicide and crisis lifeline contact centers say they are struggling to keep up with increased demand because of a lack of funding. Cities in the state are struggling to hit affordable housing goals by 2030. Newport-Mesa Unified School District is the first in California to ban electric bikes from school property for kindergarten through eighth grade.
