Why Cherelle Parker opposes safe injection sites

A man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting outside a bar in Olney Monday night. It happened around 11:30 p.m. near North Fifth Street and West Tabor Road. 

When police arrived, they found a 33-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. 

Chief Inspector Scott Small said the man may have fired some of those shots. “We did find a handgun in very close proximity to the 33-year-old male who subsequently died, so this may have been some sort of shootout,” he said.

A 30-year-old woman arrived at the hospital later with a gunshot wound to the leg. She told police that she had been shot at Fifth and Tabor. Police said she was inside the bar right before the shooting, but they don’t know if she was involved in the gunfight.
