U.S. Senate candidate for Pennsylvania Dave McCormick tried to fire up the crowded delegate floor at the Republican National Convention by asking who's ready to retire Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. He also said he wanted to acknowledge what happened last weekend, as he put, it in his state.
"And I want to first acknowledge what transpired just a few days ago in my home state, where I witnessed firsthand from a front row seat in Butler [Pennsylvania] President Trump's remarkable strength and resolve in a terrifying and unpredictable moment. The president rose brilliantly to the challenge."
McCormick was part of a string of Republican candidates for U.S. Senate headed up by Arizona's Carrie Lake who told members of the press they've worn out their welcome with "fake news," led the crowd in a chat of "Build the wall!" and called for the end of what she called the "indoctrination" of children in schools.
A Senate candidate from Michigan quipped the most expensive vehicle to operate is currently a shopping cart.
Also on the list of speakers is New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew, then two of Trump's rivals in the primary: Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis.
