Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd District, including a large part of Philadelphia, is recovering after suffering from a minor stroke.
In a statement released Thursday, Evans emphasized on the word "minor," saying initially he didn't even realize he had a stroke.
The lawmaker however, explains he will have some difficulty walking for a while. He also expressed his newfound desire to help educate people and "remove the stigma" around strokes moving forward.
Evans is set to return to his post in Washington, D.C., in about six weeks.
