The man accused of killing Temple University police officer Christopher Fitzgerald waived his preliminary hearing this morning and will now move on to the trial phase.
Miles Pfeffer, 19, of Buckingham, Bucks County, faces first-degree murder charges. He is accused of gunning down Fitzgerald while he was out on patrol last February, and then standing over him and shooting him several times.
Fitzgerald, who’s the son of a former city police commander, was 31 years old and had spent years in the sheriff's office prior to starting at the university.
His murder kicked off a series of changes within school law enforcement. And his family has sued Pfeffer's parents.
