Crews have found the body of the kayaker who went missing in the Schuylkill River in Upper Merion Township earlier this week.

The kayaker, believed to be a retired West Norriton man, was in the river near the Upper Merion Boathouse along Water Street Monday evening when he went missing.

Authorities found his kayak and his RAV 4 on Tuesday and spent the last several days extensively searching for his body.

Upper Merion police say they recovered the body just before 6 p.m. this evening and that his body will be turned over to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.
