An apparent road rage incident in Southwest Philadelphia around 11 p.m. Saturday led to three people being shot, one of them fatally.

A man to be in his 20s was pronounced dead soon after the shooting. Another victim is fighting for their life in the hospital. The third victim is listed in stable condition.

"Appears a blue SUV, a Ford SUV, struck a white Jeep SUV and, rather than exchanging information, civilly, it appears that the parties in both vehicles began arguing with each other," said Inspector D.F. Pace. "Arguing turned into threats. And it appears that parties from both vehicles were in possession of guns. And at some point, at least one of those people began firing at others."

One person involved in the shooting went to police headquarters to report what happened and is now in custody. Officials are investigating to determine who was the instigator and what exactly caused them to fire the shots.
