A Philadelphia police officer was injured in an accident in Fairhill on Saturday night.

Police say the officer's cruiser was struck from behind by another vehicle while he was pulling out of the Liberty Gas Station on Lehigh Avenue near Front Street.

The officer was transported to Temple University Hospital and is expected to be treated and released. The passenger in the other involved vehicle did not require medical attention.

Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
