On a Sunday in late September at Citizens Bank Park, Kim West of West Oak Lane was taking in the regular season home finale with Alvah Brown and 80 of their friends and relatives. West thought everyone was there just to celebrate her birthday. Some of them don’t like baseball. But Brown had something more in mind.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Brown slid out of the row and got down on one knee. And at that moment, wanting to make a memory that lasted a lifetime, Brown asked West to marry him.
