The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board has called for Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race. The move comes after large publications like The New York Times and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution called for Joe Biden to withdraw.
The president slurred his speech and often lost his place throughout Thursday night's debate. However, the Inquirer says "lost in the hand wringing was Donald Trump's lies, hyperbole, bigotry, ignorance, and fear-mongering." The editorial board called Trump a "danger to democracy" and said he is "unfit for office."
While the Inquirer's call stands out, Biden and his campaign have had to respond to doubts from high-ranking Democrats on the strength of his candidacy. Biden's camp says he will not drop out, and he showed much more vitality during a campaign rally on Friday.
