A hit-and-run driver killed a man who was crossing the street in Grays Ferry Thursday night. It happened around 10 p.m. near South 30th Street and Grays Ferry Avenue. Chief Inspector Scott Small said the crash was caught on surveillance video.
“You could see the 64-year-old pedestrian crossing the street, and the pedestrian did have the green light,” he said. “The striking vehicle went through and disregarded a steady red light when striking this 64-year-old pedestrian.”
Witnesses said the man was dragged about 100 feet. He was hit with so much force he was knocked out of one of his boots.
Police are looking for a charcoal-colored Dodge Charger with damage to the front end.
