New Jersey State Trooper Marcellus Bethea was laid to rest Wednesday in Bordentown.

If you want to travel with your dog or cat, the airline rules haven't changed much. The animal must fit in a small container under the seat in front of you, and you can't take the animal out during the flight.

Most airlines only allow one dog or cat per cabin per flight, so you must reserve the space. And in some cases the cost of flying Fluffy or Fido can actually exceed the price of your own airline ticket. A larger animal has to travel in a larger container in the pressurized cargo hold. And beware of the temperature moratorium. Most airlines will refuse to transport your pet in extreme cold or heat months. So always check with your airline to determine the thermometer cut off.
