Lawsuits filed against several youth detention facilities in Pennsylvania on behalf of dozens of people who say they were sexually or physically abused while in care of those facilities as children. KYW Suburban Bureau Chief Jim Melwert reports.

Dozens of people say they were sexually abused as kids in Pa. juvenile detention centers, according to newly filed lawsuits

Democratic State Rep. Kevin Boyle is back in Harrisburg to resume voting at the Capitol.

Boyle, who represents Northeast Philly, says in a statement, he feels vindicated after accusations from political opponents were proven false.

That's in reference to an April arrest warrant that accused Boyle of violating a protection from abuse order from 2021.

But late last month the warrant was dropped. District Attorney Larry Krasner said his office learned the PFA was no longer in effect.

Boyle, 45, lost his reelection bid in the Democratic primary last month to challenger Sean Dougherty. That loss came after Kevin's brother, U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle, joined a number of lawmakers expressing concerns over the younger Boyle's mental health.

And in February of this year, police said Boyle was caught on video berating employees at a Rockledge, Montgomery County, bar.
