NJ man indicted on attempted murder charge after slashing cop’s face with knife

View descriptionShare

An Atlantic County grand jury has indicted a Galloway Township man for attempted murder and related charges after investigators said he violently stabbed a police officer in the face earlier this year.

On April 7, investigators said Galloway officers responded to a residence on Cresson Avenue after a series of 911 calls and hang-ups. Upon arrival, officials said 31-year-old Keith Kiminsky came out of the house and slashed a cop in the face with a serrated blade.

The officer was stabbed in the cheek near the carotid artery in his neck. The gash was so deep that his mouth and teeth were exposed, according to officials. He underwent emergency surgery at a nearby hospital. Police said Kiminsky continued to fight with officers for several minutes while on the ground and refused to drop the knife, injuring other cops in the process.

Atlantic County authorities are still investigating. Kiminsky is being held at Atlantic County Jail.
