A South Jersey man sent for home detention ahead of a sentencing hearing on gun charges has been arrested again. He is now accused of killing someone last week.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says 35-year-old Kalief Lyons of Galloway Township pleaded guilty to illegal firearms charges March 5, and he was sent to home detention without a bracelet for monitoring. He was due back in court for sentencing May 28, but he is now accused of killing 38-year-old Baseem Taliaferro on May 9 at a home in Pleasantville after an argument.

Investigators say Lyons left after the argument then returned with a ski mask and shot the victim, and then he was seen on surveillance video without the mask moments after the shooting.

He is being held at the Atlantic County jail pending a detention hearing.
