New Jersey lawmakers introduce package of bills that would enforce harsher penalties for unruly teens — and their parents

A woman is in the hospital recovering from two gunshot wounds after she was shot in West Philadelphia Thursday night, near 53rd Street and Wyalusing Avenue. It happened around 11:30 p.m. Police said she heard gunfire and then realized she had been hit twice in her left arm.

The 23-year-old woman flagged down a passing car, and the driver rushed her to the hospital. She's in stable condition.

Police found more than 50 spent shell casings in the area. They think she was hit by stray bullets from a gun battle. Nearby cars were also hit. So far, there is no description of the shooter or shooters.
