Lindback Foundation presents 7 Philly principals with prestigious award and $20K for each of their schools

A body was discovered in Wissahickon Creek this morning. Police say first responders pulled a man, between 20 and 30 years old, from the creek near the Wissahickon Transportation Center just before 7:30 a.m. Investigators are now working to identify the man.

He had no visible signs of trauma, and police say he was in the water for a long time before he was found.

Police pull a body from Wissahickon Creek

Dozens of people were forced out of their homes and onto the street overnight, as a fire broke out at a high-rise apartment building in Center City. It happened along 22nd and Chestnut streets.

Firefighters were called there around 2 a.m. and quickly brought the flames under control.

No one was hurt. There's no official word on the cause, but witnesses told NBC10 that gardening soil on a patio caught fire.
