A federal judge has sentenced John Dougherty - know as "Johnny Doc" and former Business Manager to thousands of union electricians in Philadelphia area to 6 years in prison.

The Judge saying it was clear Doc had built 98 into a powerful union and did many good things for the community and charitable causes but somewhere Doc lost his way, in the Judge's words... using Local 98 as Your personal piggybank....which he called incredibly wrong. The Judge while saying it was a sad day for Dougherty, his wife and family...punishment must be meted out. Dougherty apologized in court...to Local 98 Union Members...saying He got in over his head and lost control, the lines got blurred and he takes full responsibility.
