Jury deliberations are set to resume today in the federal bribery trial of New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez. Jurors deliberated for about three hours on Friday in the Manhattan courtroom and could not reach a verdict.
The trial is entering its 10th week. The 70-year-old Democrat has denied charges that he engaged in a bribery scheme to benefit three New Jersey businessmen, including by serving as a foreign agent for the government of Egypt.
He and two businessmen, who allegedly paid him bribes of gold and cash, have pleaded not guilty.
