The body of a man was recovered from the Delaware River Thursday afternoon. Investigators believe he may have been a 42-year-old man who was reported missing by his family a day earlier.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the river off Linden Avenue to recover a body.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said when the body was recovered, police noticed something suspicious, so the homicide unit is now involved in the investigation.
Investigators have not officially identified the man, but based on what he was wearing, police believe he was the same person who was reported missing on Wednesday.
His family told police he had been on a boat in the river, and they believe he disappeared sometime after midnight.
