Eagles disavow 'counterfeit political ads' running on Philadelphia bus shelters

View descriptionShare

Turns out political endorsement is NOT for the Birds.

Ads declaring Vice President Kamala Harris as the "official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles" have appeared at bus shelters around Center City -- but, according to the Eagles, they are fake news.

The team posted a notification to X, stating, "We are aware counterfeit political ads are being circulated and are working with our advertising partner to have them removed."

The ads show a cartoon image of a woman in profile -- presumably Harris -- wearing an Eagles helmet and carrying a football. Below the image, in big, bold lettering, is the name KAMALA.

The ads also feature a URL that points to a real, but old, nonpartisan website set up by the team providing information about registering to vote in the 2024 primary election.

It is not clear who created and distributed the ads. What is clear is that they won't be around for long.
