On a solemn Sunday morning, in FDR Park in South Philadelphia, Mario D’Adamo III was honored by his family along with dozens of cyclists, a year to the day after he was killed in a hit-and-run while biking in the park. KYW’s Vik Raghupathi reports his passing and other recent traffic deaths have bikers calling for more to be done to keep them safe.

Dozens gather in FDR Park to honor the memory of an avid South Philly bike rider a year after he was killed in a hit-and-run

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has denied Donald Trump's effort to dismiss his federal election interference case based on claims that it was politically motivated. The trial has been delayed for several months but the U.S. Supreme Court returned the case to a lower court. Chutkan  has set a hearing for Aug. 16 to discuss the next steps in the case. Trump himself is not required to attend.

Trump election interference trial "moving forward," despite desire to dismiss

Boxer Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan has clinched her first Olympic medal in front of a crowd that chanted her name at the Paris Games. Fellow female boxer Imane Khelif from Algeria also got a big win this weekend. This follows days of online abuse and intense scrutiny about their participation. 

Lin and Khelif have been at the center of a clash over gender identity and regulations in sports. Critics have brought up their disqualification from the world championships last year after the now-banned International Boxing Association claimed they failed unspecified eligibility tests for women's competition.

IOC President Thomas Bach defended the boxers, reiterating they were both assigned female at birth, they have both competed for many years as women, and they have always identified as women.
