Chris Christie, the former Republican governor of New Jersey, said Trump's debate performance was a "huge fail." He said Harris was very well-prepared, while Trump frequently veered off topic during the debate.

Trump's running mate JD Vance said he thought Harris offered nothing but empty rhetoric. On Fox News, Republican Lindsey Graham called Trump's performance a "disaster." However, other Fox News commentators blamed the moderators, calling it a "three-on-one attack" on Trump.
