FringeArts announces a new leader on the first day of Fringe Festival

A father was holding his 1-year-old son on his front stoop when two men pulled up on a red scooter and opened fire, police said. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on D Street near East Allegheny Avenue in Kensington. The 24-year-old father was killed. The infant suffered graze wounds to his legs. Detectives are looking at surveillance video from nearby homes and businesses to try to identify the shooters.
