Sen. Bob Menendez is set to resign by the end of the day. About a month ago, a jury convicted the New Jersey Democrat of federal bribery charges. The governor tapped his former top aide, George Helmy, to succeed him. Helmy will serve until the election results for the Senate seat are certified in November.
