As of Saturday, April 1, Pennsylvanians who get their health insurance from the state will have to complete a yearly renewal to make sure they are still eligible to receive Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program, also known as CHIP. More now from KYW's David Madden.

Future of Pennsylvanians' healthcare coverage at risk with reinstatement of eligibility renewals

The River Sisters of Pennsauken and Against the Wind from Philly are combining teams to form the River Winds for the New Zealand Dragon Boat Festival. Co-captain Joan Grossberg says they can’t wait to go.

“People are in just high spirits. And although I’m certainly looking forward to the hiking and the spa experiences and the sightseeing, it’s the festival that’s got me all jazzed up.”

'River Winds' team prepares for New Zealand Dragon Boat Festival

The ground has been broken for a new lumber yard in Fairmount Park, which is expected to be operational in June. KYW Newsradio‘s John McDevitt reports downed trees will be recycled, new trees will be planted and jobs will be created.
