76-year-old Camden County man will die in prison for 2020 murder of ex-wife

View descriptionShare

A man from Camden County, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 40 years in state prison for the murder of his ex-wife, according to the county prosecutor's office.

They say in the summer of 2020, 76-year-old Philip Puche attacked his ex-wife Nancy Kenny as she was getting into her car, while outside her Audubon Park home. Puche is said to have slashed Kenny several times with a sharp object and to have taken her purse, according to investigators. Although Kenny was taken to the hospital for emergency care, she died eight months later, prosecutors say, from those injuries.

Puche was previously convicted of several charges, including first-degree murder. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office says he was sentenced last week and is required to serve 85% of the sentence before eligible for parole.
