2 Philly cops on leave after fatally shooting a pit bull and a Pomeranian fighting in Grays Ferry

View descriptionShare

Two Philly cops have been placed on administrative leave after shooting and killing two dogs that were fighting in Grays Ferry on Thursday morning.

The incident happened on Dover Street near Tasker Street. The officers found a 67-year-old man attempting to separate a pit bull and the Pomeranian. Investigators say the pit went after one of the officers biting him on the arm. He and his partner both opened fire in response, bringing down both animals.

The incident was captured on the officer's body worn camera. The cop who was bitten was treated and released from a local hospital.
