A woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck just as she got out of her own car in Hunting Park early Thursday morning, police said. Officials are looking for the hit-and-run driver.
A man riding his mountain bike in South Philadelphia Wednesday night was shot and killed in a targeted attack by three shooters, according to investigators. Police said they fired dozens of rounds at the victim.
More than a dozen mayors from around the country are meeting in Philadelphia Thursday for the African American Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual National Convening of Black Mayors.
Philly's first urgent care for mental health needs is set to open at the beginning of next month, and city officials hope the new clinic can help offset the demand for behavioral health care.

​​​​​​It was an emotional day, one year exactly after Eddie Irizarry was killed during a traffic stop in Fairhill. Flowers and lights adorned his grave at Magnolia Cemetery in Tacony, where family and friends had gathered for a balloon release memorial ceremony.
The family of 12-year-old Malinda Hoagland, who died in May after years of alleged abuse at the hands of her father and his fiancée, is suing the Chester County agencies and schools that the suit claims failed to protect her.
New Jersey state Sen. Declan O’Scanlon wants the attorney general to look deeper into the finances of the Salem City School District after a recent audit uncovered some potentially wasteful spending there.
A group of 12-year-olds from Bucks County has made it all the way to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.
