Aggravated assaults on SEPTA have risen from 46 four years ago to 111 last year. “The crime stats are telling us that we’re seeing an increase in crime also on board trains," says acting SEPTA Transit Police Chief Chuck Lawson. He says he’s working on making officers more visible on the Broad Street Line and Market-Frankford Line.
