A lot of Eagles fans are planning on going to the game against the Buccaneers this Sunday. But Tampa's airport is still closed because of Tropical Storm Helene. KYW Newsradio's Conner Barkon has more from Philly International airport with more on how the storm is affecting operations there.


A 14-year-old girl who was crossing the street with her mom in West Philly was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, last night. It happened around 9:30. Police say Dawn Watson and her mother were crossing Haverford Avenue at 66th Street when a car going eastbound hit the girl, but her mother wasn't hurt.


A strike deadline is fast approaching that would impact the Port of Philadelphia and major ports along the East Coast and Gulf Coast. KYW Newsradio’s Matt Coughlin explains.

Helene won't stop Eagles fans from flying south for Tampa Bay game

SEPTA has shared with KYW Newsradio video of a scuffle earlier this month between a young woman and a SEPTA police officer after a dispute over whether the 19-year-old was trying to evade a fare. Her lawyer says it was excessive use of force while SEPTA says the officer did everything right.
New Jersey’s attorney general has filed a complaint against Virtua Health, accusing the health system of performing drug tests on pregnant patients without their consent, a violation of their civil rights.


Commissioners of Okaloosa County are scheduled to vote on a $10.1 million plan on Tuesday to move the ocean liner from South Philly, remove environmental hazards, and then sink it off the coast of Destin-Fort Walton Beach. The plan includes building an on-land museum there too.
Ensuring safe and fair elections in Philadelphia has been a priority of Committee of 70 since it was founded in 1904.  KYW Community Impact Reporter Racquel Williams says the nonpartisan organization is working with other entities in the city to make sure the upcoming election is as smooth as possible

Philadelphia voters could be asked to approve the creation of a prison oversight board under legislation introduced in City Council on Thursday.
 Three brothers from Northeast Philadelphia are having their dreams come true. Their new mix tape was the Phillies' choice to play during the team’s locker room beer shower victory celebrations.
