• Pennsylvania says retail theft has increased by about 30% throughout the state — following a decline a few years back. Philadelphia has seen a large portion of that. Here’s KYW Newsradio's Crime and Justice reporter Kristen Johanson.

• Philadelphia City Council had an extremely light calendar, this week. None of the bills on final passage came up for a vote. It turns out that’s because there was insufficient notice, under the state Sunshine Act, about the bills that were scheduled to be voted on. KYW Newsradio City Hall bureau chief Pat Loeb reports.
• The Philadelphia Fire Department is reminding people to be mindful when setting up their Christmas trees. As KYW Newsradio’s Hadas Kuznits reports, if not properly cared for, they can be a fire hazard.
