Dozens of people say they were sexually abused as kids in Pa. juvenile detention centers, according to newly filed lawsuits

  • Four related lawsuits were filed Wednesday on behalf of dozens of people who say they suffered physical and sexual abuse, including violent rapes, as children in the care of juvenile detention centers and similar facilities in Pennsylvania.
  • A “disgruntled” employee at a Chester, Delaware County business shot five of his co-workers Wednesday morning, killing two of them, officials said. 
  • An 11-year-old boy is in custody after police say he pulled out a gun Tuesday and fired at a house as he walked home from school.
  • All permanent lanes of I-95 in the Northeast are set to reopen, less than a year after the deadly crash that caused the highway to collapse. 
  • Under newly implemented legislation signed by Gov. Phil Murphy last year, pharmacies can now provide hormonal contraceptives over the counter without a prescription. The statewide standing order was issued this week.
