Thousands are expected to gather once again on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the Fourth of July concert and fireworks show. And with a national heightened security alert, Philadelphia police say they’re prepared for anything.
Serious crime on SEPTA fell by 37% in the first half of 2024, and the most violent crimes, including aggravated assaults and robberies, fell by nearly half, according to the transit agency.
New Jersey has a new domestic worker’s bill of rights, which went into effect July 1. The goal is to expand protections for those who are employed by households, regardless of their immigration status. 
Water utility company Aqua is asking to increase rates for Pennsylvania customers starting this month, but a state review is expected to delay any change until next year.
