  • More than 100 people were in attendance when a gunfight broke out on Sunday, killing three and wounding six. Nearly 40 shots were fired. The mayor says if block party organizers had obtained a permit from the city, police would have been better able to prepare for a large community gathering.
  • Edsaul Mendoza, the former police officer who pleaded guilty to fatally shooting 12-year-old Thomas "T.J." Siderio in South Philadelphia nearly two years ago, was sentenced to eight to 20 years behind bars.
