The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise ( Psalm 51:17 ). A committed follower of Jesus clearly recognizes the sinful flesh wars against the spirit and the spirit wars against the flesh. Christ followers groan at the presence of indwelling sin. They lament with godly sorrow when they yield to the temptation brought on by the flesh. Such was the case this morning when Jay from Orlando called in to speak with Pastor Jay Dennis from City Central Church - Lakeland. As Christians, we all need trustworthy relationships in which we are free to confess our sins, experience forgiveness, acceptance, and Christ centered encouragement.
