Just after 2 a.m. on December 14, 2021, Phoenix Police officer Tyler Moldovan was shot multiple times after a confrontation with a suspect. Less than an hour after the cop was admitted to the hospital with life threatening injuries, including a shot to the head, KTAR News’ Senior reporter Jim Cross was on the scene of the shooting gathering details and preparing for the start of Arizona’s Morning News at 5 a.m. When the opening news sounder played, Cross was at the hospital and provided us the latest breaking developments of the shooting of the young officer.
