In June, 12 phoenix firefighters were sent home from duty after performing multiple mountain rescues in one day. Two of which were hospitalized after extreme heat exhaustion with 116 degree weather. The union backing them wants trail access limited to the summit of Camelback and Piestewa Peak when the weather surpasses 105 degrees.
