National Fire Pup Day is on October 1 and it recognizes the canine firefighters that have long been members of fire departments across the country.  The Phoenix Fire Department would like to take the opportunity of National Fire Pup Day to introduce the public to “Sonny” – the Phoenix Fire Department’s new 2-year-old “Goldador” arson dog.  He is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador.  In April, Sonny finished his four-week national certification to become one of only two accelerant dogs in the Valley, thanks in very large part to the sponsorship of State Farm
