That that's all there you go. City of Louisville comes through every time. We are here at Whiskey Thief Tasting Room in New lou It is located what Hancock Street here right off of Market and uh Broadway. It is an absolutely packed house here at Whiskey Thief.

Come on out on the what is it.

Uh Nanny goat strut Nanny.

Goat strut, which, by the way, was the practice of walking your goats around on goat racing day in the alley any goat strut road here in Louisville. You can give shallon Clark's Pumping Shop fulk line eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven a vision auto glass text machine is seven seven two seven four five two five four in this distion sponsored by the t J.

Smith Love as you call Tj'll make them pay.

I don't really know Ryan, what you want more you would want from a remote. First of all, you have a packed house of Kentucky fans here in the city of Louisville. If you don't want to say, if you want to see what beating Duke will do for you.

Just look in here right now.

We don't get to do a lot of remotes in Louisville, and when we do, you get to have a big day, and this is one of them. By the way, just so you know, the next time we'll be in this building will be the day before Kentucky plays Arkansas in February.

So I think that will probably be a pretty big crowd. Heart booking, right that was whoever was in charge of booking this. I think you picked a pretty good day. I was amazed.

I looked at the calendar that one stayed free for way too long considering what's happening the next day.

So we will be here in Louisville for that.

Uh is beautiful, Well, it's not a beautiful day outside, but it's cool to be with all the big blue nation here.

This look.

This is another indication how much people are excited about Mark Pope and the basketball parking place is full of blue in Louisville. And this is an awesome facility Whiskey Thief has here.

This is beautiful.

So yeah, we've been at Whiskey Thief at their distillery out in Shelbyville, but this is their tasting room here in Louisville, in New lou And let me just say, for people and the rest of the state, you know, I always get angry when people have a perception of Louisville it's a terrible place. It's much nice. I think it's for people who don't come here. But this section down here, especially of New lou where the old Shannon OVW offices were, I remember that just a few years ago. Really, yeah, we sold out to the big corporations here and let them. Let them take it over. It is Shannon a really nice developing area. I was down here on like Friday night, just people everywhere.

Yeah, yeah, a beautiful area. Not a lot of nice restaurants. Now you can come down here Whiskey Thief and fill your own bottle. It's really cool area down here in Louisville, and Drew.

Is a thief person. They're giving the h they're giving the bourbon out today. I mean, you get free bourbon, free donuts.

I don't know what else you could want.

Yeah, I notice when I walked in, they're walking around with the thieves, which is that big, like a gigantic straw, and they're just walking around filling people's glasses. Don't even know if people are asking for more bourbon. But it's just big pour to you. Let's make sure we have uber rides home, especially you, sir. I'm watching you right there with the but I just kind of feel like you're gonna be a little out of control out today.

It's my high school baseball coach, is dad right there? Figure that out today?

High school baseball. Just I'm just saying, man, keep him settled down. We need it's his.

Birthday, birthday, hey, celebrate, tell you what is it your birthday?

If you want to go shirt off and do a lap with rhyme when it's over, Phil free.

I know I want Well you don't want to see me either.

Yeah, when we still do every day? So uh well, all right. So this weekend Kentucky batons the last weekend Kentucky basketball is off for quite a long time. I'm but the Kentucky football team plays Murray State in a game that's gonna be a route. It's at least I hope it's a rout. They are not good.

They're really not good. They're even for their division bad.

Uh. Mark Stoops anounced yesterday that Brock Vandergraft will start, but he hopes to play Cutter bow Ley quite a bit. That was sort of a let's hope we get a big lead and get this over. It reminds me Ryan the decision to start brought Vandergriff of many years ago when we played Austin p which was a similarly bad team, and they started Luke Wright and they thought, well, we don't need to start, and then we had to put Steven Johnson back in the game. Then he got like a huge lead, and then they went back to Luke right after that, probably hoping they don't that they can just get the lead and then hand it off after that.

You know, that was that lesson learned. Lesson learned when they did that against Austin P A couple of years ago. But I think they want to get Brock on the field because you know, he took he took a big pop against was it Auburn Auburn game, No, Tennessee, Tennessee game was a Tennessee He took a big hit, left the game and never came back. I think it's good just to get him on the field. You know, have three or four scoring drives and then Yankee Mountain.

It feels like that Tennessee game was a long time ago. Let me think about it.

Since that Tennessee game, it does the basketball season has started and actually become the obsession of the of the Big Blue Nation. But they still have three more football games and they still have what in my opinion, if Mark Stoops is going to stay, but even if he's not going to stay, this next month is a massive month for UK football as a program, Like if you there is so much drew going on in the next month. First of all, let me just go over a few of them. Number One, is your coach gonna stay? Which I don't I think is an open question. Number Two, if he stays, is the defensive coordinator gonna stay? How much of the staff is going to say I think unless there's a disaster, you'll get the same O C back. But then there's a chance Brad White may use this as a time to go do something else. Then you have the roster situation.

You have a ton of guys graduating.

You got dudes like Dane Key and uh Deon Walker gonna decide what they're gonna do. Who you're gonna have at quarterback. We think it'll be brought Vandergriff, but I don't know if that's probably eighty percent sure, but maybe not one hundred percent.

Then you have the scholarship issue.

They probably have ninety five scholarships promised, they can only have eighty five guys, so what do you end up doing that. Then you have the transfer portal. We're gonna lose six or seven starters on defense. You're gonna have to fill that with somebody. Are you gonna be able to get it? And then you have setting up for revenue sharing, which was probably now getting pushed to one year off, but that is coming. And then I will also note you're gonna have a new Congress and a new president that within the first sixty days are probably going to pass the legislation that's going to decide the next twenty five years of college athletics. So these next couple months for UK football are pretty daunting a couple months. My view of all that Drew is, that's a lot of change, and it's changed. That's coming. It's rolling around the bend and it doesn't matter whether we want it or not. It's coming. Unless Mark Stoops wants to look at that and say I want to be part of all that because it's a lot, then I think he has to make a decision one way or the other. But it has to be looking at that and going I'm on my way, I'm part of it.

I'm gonna lead the pack.

Yeah, this will be his hardest offseason to date, probably by far. Just the roster situation by itself is gonna be very difficult. I think they thought they were gonna go ahead and get the one hundred and five scholarships. It's looking like we'll eventually come a year later. But they already have a big recruiting class. You've got a few seniors. You want some guys hit the portal, but they're gonna have to hit the portal just to be talented again. And there's just not many spots to go out and promise guys, there's gonna be some difficult conversations with players already on your team, maybe in your recruiting class. And after you handle all that, you, like I said, Dad White's name has been thrown around at other jobs. You think Stoops wants to go find another defensive coordinator. That position has been steady for him for a long time. You could have that on your plate. Everything you just named, and it's all gonna be on Stoop's plate. And we're looking at him right now. We already think he's winded.

Of what he are said.

That's what I think, Ryan, I sit there and look at that and go, I've listened to this dude basically say I'm worn out.

I don't get to do what I need.

Even noted this week he's having to spend time roster building instead of preparing for this game.

Do you I want you to think.

About for a minute, on the basketball side, Let's say you had to get thirteen players like Mark Pope did. Doesn't you have to have kind of a Mark Pope energy to go fill that roster in one month?

Remember he was here, he was there, He was here, he was there.

Whether Mark Stoops wants to or not, that's what he's gonna have to do this offseason.

Now. I do think, by the way.

In two years, college sports is gonna be in a better place regardless, I mean on the legislation side. And honestly, didn't matter who would win the Press than SEE or the Congress, it was gonna get passed. But it now with them all being the same party, there's a good chance it'll be easier to pass. Like in two years, this is gonna look better, but this is gonna be a hell of a two years for coaches. And does Mark Stoops have the energy to do that? Because if you're signing up for here's my view, Mark, if you're signing up for another year, then you need to be signed up for five years because this next year is gonna be chaos. So if you like, you need to be wanting to do this for a long time.

And you guys both said the exactly what I was thinking this Pope. I mean, does Mark Stops have enough gas in the tank to do that? He's hinted several couple times how he doesn't like dealing with the nil and.

Well he's going to get over that.

You know what I mean that he will have to So does he have enough energy and gas in the tank to want to fight through that and get to next season? I don't know.

I'm gonna assume Drew They're gonna win Saturday by a lot. How much do you think the two weeks after that will matter? Like, do you think with our fan base? Like, let me just a survey and people don't like when I do this when I did it with cal But to be fair, we'll do the same with Stoops. You guys had your druthers, how many of you would like to see Mark Stoops the coach next year? Raise your hand? Okay, if you had your druthers, how many would go in the other direction? Probably seventy five, seventy thirty bring back. So again, I do think it's important when you're online that's not necessarily representative of the fan base as hole. This was probably three to one to you know, seventy thirty come back. So with that said, do you think if we get blown out at Texas and lose to Louisville, if I did this survey in three weeks, it would be different. It'd be a little different.

I know, we keep comparing it to cal But there was a point last year even the year before were part of the reason I was ready for that to end, because there was a portion of the fan base that was just not coming back with him, and it made things awkward.

Do you the half fan base is that there?

With football, it's a smaller group, but if you are terrible the rest of the year, that group's gonna get a little bit bigger. And then don't want to get the point where coming back next year he's only gonna have sixty seventy percent support going into a year you don't really want that. So I think it's important to I really want to beat Louisville obviously, and be competitive against Texas, just to keep people on if he is coming back. But if he does come back and even handles the offseason well, next year's schedule so hard. He could do well this offseason and still not make a bowl because next year is gonna be.

Just next Yearson's gonna be hard.

Ryan. I think sometimes when you're looking at people who take criticism, you have to ask yourself how much do they know about it? And part of that means how online are they like, how connected are they part of John cal Perry's problem is he was hyper offline, like he had no idea how much the fan base had turned on him.

I don't think he had any idea.

I don't think he realized it until he walked out down the aisle at the gate in the SEC tournament at Texas, A and M. People close to him will say that was shocking to him, and then it was even more shocking when they lost to Oakland and Pittsburgh. Now let's go the other way. The football program is hyper online. Okay, those folks know what the fan base thinks online, probably too much, to be honest with you, Like.

They're hyper engaged.

All of the coaches are online, including the head one, like they feel it all.

Do you think that factors in?

Because I think if you just look at that survey I did, the fan base online is in many ways much much more negative than the than the fan base as a whole. Do you think like him feeling like they don't have support will factor.

In with just knowing stoops like we do. It seems like it would a little bit, because you know, we hear him after these losses and he sounds as defeated as I feel. You know, he sounds beat down. That's why, if you're asking me, I think probably a little bit. It does factor into it.

I think it factors into it. I think he I think he feels like he doesn't have the support, which makes me even more say, Man, if you're gonna come back, you better be like embracing all the things you did when you started.

Because if we have for the future of Kentucky football.

This next year can't be dead man walking, because this is gonna be the year where programs start to separate.

Yeah.

True, because because the new rules are coming and they're gonna lock in for the next twenty five years, and you better be ready to play at that moment.

Yeah, and this one's a little different than most coaching searches. I'll use the cal example again. There was a fear of the uncertainty of what we could get Stoops right now kind of has John Someral.

Working against him.

He does because there are fans that don't want John somerrawl is getting a big job, could be Auburn, could be in the SEC. And there are fans that have a fear of having to face a John Somemrall atnother school for many years.

Well, This is probably a fact John Sumral will get another job this year, and if this one comes open, it'd probably be this one. If this one doesn't come open, we're gonna be watching him somewhere else. Like I think there are people kind of against Stoops with that opportunity in front of us. That's exactly right. Day five nine, twenty two eighty seven. I'm gonna talk some basketball. We got some potentially really good news on a top five recruit, and now all of a sudden, people are starting to say Mark Pope's team might be a national championship contender. That was said by two national folks yesterday. We'll take a break of me. Right back's Kentucky Sports.

Radio Working back.

It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at Whiskey Thief's Tasting Room.

They're open, just so you know.

They're open Monday through Friday from ten to five, and then on the weekends eleven to five. They get It's a great place if you're on the Bourbon Trail to come by, but today it's a great place for Kentucky fans. I see one dude in the back wearing red. I'm sure it's not for I'm sure it's not Louisville Red, right, sir, you're not what You're not a Louisville fan, are you? Oh? Oh? That that hide in your face is what you all have had to do for the last five years. It's been pretty rare.

By the way, I'm gonna say this, if you.

All don't beat us in football this year, there's like a ten year time you're not allowed to speak about anything because this is the year to get us. And if you don't get it, then I don't think it's happening. I'm gonna read you where I am drew. This is on the text machine. This isn't me that wrote this. Somebody else wrote this, but it's kind of encapsulates my feeling. Matt Mark Stops has gone to nine straight Bowls and had a winning season every year minus the COVID year. Yes, this season has been a big disappointment, but is that all it takes at Kentucky football. One losing season and he's done. It isn't like Kentucky basketball, which by the way, had two losing seasons. UK basketball is a blue blood and has and had four bad seasons in a row.

Stoops should get another chance.

I agree with that. Pretty much completely with one caveat. For me, it's about are you you're always going up or you're going down? Right, Like, it's not just about you know you judge Col's resume in the hole, it's still really good, but it was clear it was going down. I gotta make sure when I hear Mark talk, are we going back up?

Or are we just like.

Gay old man, this is not as much fun as it was, like are you going up?

Were going down?

Yeah?

I'm the same way, and I just like I keep using the cow comparison, but just like with him, I worry if you just keep having these bad seasons, the legacy and everyone that loved you, it's just gonna keep getting worse and worse. And right now we all know this has not been a good year. But overall, I would say most people we just saw here are still pretty fond of Stoops like Stoops love what he did here. If you come back next year, don't make a bowl. And they's plainning I just hate about the overall legacy.

All right. So yesterday the national media felt that they all kind of decided to weigh in on Kentucky basketball. I'll give you some of the feelings Myron Metcalf said Kentucky basketball is a national championship contender. Field of sixty eight said that national championship contender. Other people seem to stay hey, gutsy performance, but hang on just a second, okay before but he gets too excited.

Yes or no?

Do you think this Kentucky team is a national championship contender?

I said yesterday I kind of flipped. I think now they could definitely make a Final four run whether they can win the national championship.

For yes or no?

Is a national championship contender?

I'll say, yuh, I think they can make a Final four run. I'll say yeah, yeah.

I mean I won't put them top five contenders. I'll put them top ten contenders, though I'm not we still got a long way to go when the tournament gets here. In my current mind state, I would not expect them to make the run, but also would be cheering on and it wouldn't surprise me if they made that run.

I'll go yes, because they just beat a top ten team with their best player having an awful night, and they didn't even play as good as they can as a team overall, and they still won the game. For that reason alone, even though it's early, I want to say yes.

All right, so then I'm gonna be the bummer and I'm gonna say, well here, let me say.

I'm gonna say not yet.

Yeah, that's supposed to be me.

Yeah, you take it. Let me. The only reason I'm saying not yet, yeah is I we won. Yeah, okay, and we won and they we were. That was the gutsiest win and like I thought, it was a Mark Pope win in a lot of ways. Still though, at the end of the game, at the end of the game, like we cleared out with Andrew Carr like two three out of four times, I'm not sure that that's a recipe to win a national championship. I gotta see Jackson Robinson play well, right, I mean, Duke's not gonna shoot seventy seventeen.

Percent every game from three.

I got it, Jackson Robinson. If he's not a if he's not a dude, then we're gonna be a dude short. So I think we are a Final four contender. Like you said, I wouldn't put us as a national championship contender yet. But if you take those dudes and O Way plays like he does, and Chandler plays like he excuse me, car plays like he does. The Bigs play like it. Butler, Yes, But I got Jackson. Robinson's gonna have to play well. We drew that won't We won't consistently get those results unless he plays well.

I agree, and I'm of the belief that was just a one off for him because he had a lot of great games and b why you already for Pope. One thing that also helps me, like Kentucky in the tournament is we've all talked about preparation. You know, you're getting a quick turnaround not knowing your opponent. I don't think we have a coach that just gonna say we'll show up.

Be the better team.

I think they're gonna be very prepared in that tournament setting where coaching can really matter on that short.

Term, Which leads me to I want to play this quote.

This was Mark Pope yesterday and this was in his press conference or I guess was this yesterday two days ago?

Maybe two days ago?

Yeah, two days ago, when he was talking about how his teams are gonna work and how they're gonna how they're gonna prepare. Go ahead, play that rick.

Listen if you come play Kentucky, then you're gonna play for forty minutes, and we're not going away, and we're not backing down, and we're not changed, and we're gonna keep coming and coming and coming. That doesn't mean that that we're gonna win every game. It means that you're gonna have your hands full and you're not gonna be able to breathe for forty straight minutes.

Listen. I love that. I love that because I think that's how we won the game. To be honest with you, I think they just kept coming at him, coming at him, coming at him, and then about six minutes Duke wore down even though they might have been the better team. Remember Cooper Flag with like nine minutes to go, had two free throws to put him up double digits.

He missed them both, and then.

We came down, hit a three, got a two, cut it to four, and it was a game. I think that's what he's talking about, that come and come and coming.

That's why I think this could really be a team to make a Final four.

Runk.

They showed enough grit and fight to be ten points down against one of the best teams in the country and one of your best players having it off night, and they still were able to cut into that lead. I don't think that the teams with pass could have done that here.

Well, they haven't done it since pre COVID as the last time we've been down ten points and come back and won.

Yeah, we still have a lot to figure out this whole team, but as they look now, I just think with a three pointer you could hopefully there will be a cold game in six in a row. Hopefully it's one of the early rounds you can still overcome that instead of getting cold later in the tournament. But also if they get hot in the tournament, I don't care who's in front, they could shoot somebody.

The way they play too. I hate to compare them to the nineties teams, but they do remind me. I can't help but think about when Bark Pope was a player here at Kentucky and how those teams played.

That's how this Kentucky team.

This team reminds me of the second Patino team that won the SEC was not allowed to go to the tournament, but was, like you remember it, marsh like they Mashburn was a freshman, so he wasn't yet the Mashburn we came to know and they just kind of outplayed everybody and they ended up winning the SEC. That's kind of how this group reminds me and maybe their peak Ryan is two thousand and three Kentucky, where on the surface, Bogan's Fitch Daniels, Hayes estole.

That's not a.

Team that on the papers should be great, and they ended up being number one in the country in part because of just how they played so hard to.

Get Yeah, they outwork you, they're smarter than you, they execute better than you, and they smothered you and they need to. That's what this team is, came Hawking.

It's like none of those dudes, none of those dudes except Bogans were pros, but they just kept working.

Yep.

But the key for that team, Drew, was Bogans became a star. And we're probably gonna need Jackson to become Jackson Robinson to become a star.

Yeah, everybody on the team, it's most likely gonna be him. There's a lot of basketball left and a lot of help around him. Someone will rise, and hopefully it's him to become a creator.

Maybe it's oh way, I mean, that's who was playing so good the other night. We're gonna take your calls and take a break. We are here at Whiskey Thief in Louisville. See it looks like Lexington because we still pack it better than Louisville ever. Can This is more people than they had at their first game the other night.

We'll take a break and be right back.

This is Kentucky Sports Radio walking back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at Whiskey Thief. If you are in the Louisville area, come on down and join us.

Free bourbon.

They got all kinds of drinks, They got everything going. My Louisville fan in the back needs to shut up. If you're gonna come, you can't talk during the show. All right, you talked during the commercials, but you go. I'll let you wear red, but you can't yeap during the show. A f I'm nine twenty two eighty seven. Couple shout outs here. First of all, happy thirtieth birthday to Andrew Meyer. I hope you have a big thirtieth birthday. And a big shout out to uh former co Well it's not a former, a current KSR legendary caller Radio ron.

Is ninetieth yeah, ninety. I don't think. I don't think you've been to a remote since COVID, have you that?

I yeah, so very nice.

Still competing in shot put and all sorts of other game.

Still winning gold medals by making sure nobody else is in it.

Hey, gold to gold Gold Division, Gold is a gold.

Bruce? Is next?

Bruce?

How are you Bruce?

Do you guys remember the starting lineup action figures from like the eighties and nineties.

Oh yeah, that's several of them.

Can you name the Kentucky players that have a starting lineup figure?

I have no idea what who are they? Rex is probably one of them.

Rex Chapman is one. There's there's about three more.

Well, I don't know, and we can't sit and guess, so go ahead and tell us.

Oh, come on, yes you can. And Jamal Mashburn all right, there you go.

Well, I appreciate do you have him?

I have an in the box Rix Chatman.

All right, well, well, congratulations. I don't know what to say to that.

I'm glad he has it.

That's nice.

Who's up there? Appreciate it.

Austin is up there, Austin. Go ahead, Austin.

I'm hearing that Caleb Wilson once again canceled his visit to Arkansas this upcoming weekend, and I just want to know if that's true, and if it is, what's he waiting on first for us for him to commit to us?

Yeah, so it is true. Appreciate the call Caleb Wilson.

For people who you know don't follow recruiting closely, Caleb is a top five player, would be would probably put Kentucky into the place where they're locked in as the number two overall recruiting class. But probably for our purposes is the we went head to head with Cal and beat him. For a guy, he's down to Kentucky, Arkansas, and North Carolina. He was at the Kentucky Duke game on Tuesday in Atlanta. He was supposed to visit Arkansas this weekend and he canceled his visit. He is supposed to decide in December or early January. Drew, I mean, we don't know for sure, but that's got to be a pretty good sign.

We don't know for sure, but we're about as close as to for sure.

It could be all.

Right now, Yeah, did you see the video of Jack Pilgrim's interview with him where he talks about Arkansas. No, go, it'd almost be worth digging up. But I mean, the kid clearly has a good relationship with Cal. But he says in this video, I don't really know anything about Arkansas. I didn't even know they were in the SEC. He's trying to be polite, but he basically says, I have never heard of this place. He said they didn't know that. I mean, you can tell he's like stopping himself before he says things. He's trying not to be disrespectful because he does have a good relationship with Cal. But the kid does not know where Arkansas is and has not heard of Arkansas basket.

Sounds like he doesn't want to visit either.

Well, that goes to my bigger point of you know, Cal has the line of don't worry, nothing's changed, but the location. I don't think they know where your location is is the problem there because in the interview it's very clear he knows nothing about Arkansas.

Yeah, I mean, you know, and Cale deserves credit for this, but col Ryan in part to a new generation, I mean to old generations, Kentucky's always mentioned, you know, big basketball, but to a new generation, Cal made Kentucky to where it was like my long within duke basketball, and now to try to sell that in Arkansas it's probably a ten to fifteen year job that he's probably not gonna stay there long enough to do. Yeah.

I think one of the big attraction was they were just offering a lot of and I owe money to this guy, but he really wanted to kind of play at Kentucky. But they're offering so much more. Kentucky up their offer may not be as much as what Arkansas offer, but they up their offer enough with this kid. I don't think it's coincidence he's at the Duke Kentucky game and cancels his visit to Arkansas after the game.

Yeah, I think the story I heard was that.

Basically Arkansas has offered the most. I don't know what the raw number is, but Kentucky's offered like seventy five percent of that and North Carolina is at like fifty or sixty, and that, you know, he's just having to convince himself take less money to be at Kentucky, which, you know, if you end up.

Doing that with a top kid, and.

Also turning down a coach who's produced fifty pros for a coach who's produced none, you know, I mean, that's a pretty If Pope's able to do that, that's pretty impressive.

Yeah, And I haven't talked to this kid, but reading up on other stories that we've written in other people, Pope has done a really good job forming a relationship with him. I guess they have a lot of common interest beyond basketball. It just goes to show you, I know, sometimes Pope might feel a little corny or you know, too smart of a guy in the room, but he's really gotten to know Caleb Wilson very well and they have a great look.

And this is also something we have to change. Our man said on Shannon, Like, guys my age, I know this sounds weird, but guys my age kind of looked at Cal like, well, now that's the cool young coach, right, but he ain't young anymore, you know what I mean. Like these other coaches like Mark Pope or Hubert Davis or John Shire, they're the young coaches.

Now, Cal's like kind of.

The way we probably looked at you know, in twenty ten. He might be how I looked at Roy Williams, right like as the old coach. That's kind of how Caly, isn't it.

You know?

I look at this in this particular recruitment as the brand Kentucky selling itself. You know, we wonder sometimes does Kentucky still have that allure that it did, you know in the early caliars and before that.

I think it still does.

And just if you had just watched the Kentucky game Tuesday night, in the Arkansas game Wednesday night, Ryan, which style do you want to play? Like, which which style do you want to play? You want to get them down the court? Or do you want to sit there and hold and try to score sixty four to five points? Like it's different that That's a great point, CAYLEB.

Williams is they're watching Kentucky coming behind and beat Duke may have watched the Arkansas game on TV and like, oh, I don't want to play in this. They struggle the struggling offensively.

To beat Troy.

And again when John Wall came cow was playing the exciting style. Yeah, another and now the exciting style is it?

Who would want to come here where you can shoot ten threes a game? I mean, what player wouldn't want to play for a.

Coach like Pope was telling these big recruits go ahead and start launching threes, because that's what I want you to do. And if you're a big guy and you're being told you're in advance, like why you're in high school, go ahead and start letting them fly.

Well he means it. He let Brandon Garrison shoot that shot at the end of the game and it went in. Uh, Central Kentucky. If you're looking for new furniture, appliances or beds. Look at p Rats, a locally owned and operated appliance, furniture and mattress store seventy five years.

Right at p Rats, they've been a icon and letting in for many many years.

Matt they're not.

Their team isn't just knowledgeable. They help you fire the exact set for you, whether it's furniture, appliance needs or great mattress. P rats is the best place for all your needs. And remember, nobody beats P Rats. We'll take a break and be right back here.

In Louisville is Kentucky Sports Radio working back.

It is Kentucky Swarts Radio here live and Whiskey Thief Tasting Room has all the features of the distillery there in Franklin County, including tasting right from the barrel with the Whiskey Thief. They're going around and giving it to people right now. They have the same this is the same type of thing, but in a relaxed atmosphere, and it's a beautiful place down here in a growing part of Louisville. In New lou Shannon, I read some news that is new to me. It may not be new to other people in here, but that had no idea. So uh, you know, Trump uh picked the guy who sounds like a frog to be the health secretary, Kid.

Holmes, and he did. He picked Patrick Mahomes.

It was an interesting choice and so people were putting like all the things he thought, and then that led me down.

A wrap hole.

If I don't usually read about medicine, but I was. I read something about medicine and I didn't realize this and maybe you did. The FDA a few months ago, and they're going to confirm this rule next week potentially. The FDA, like a few months ago, came out and said, you know, Nike wil Right and SUDA FED and musinics, the FDA came out and said, none of it works.

Oh really, so it's a placebo effect that none of it always felt like it worked.

Okay, They said what it's supposed to do, which is basically clean up your your nasal spray and help you get rid of congestion. That there are things that work, the sprays work or whatever, but they said oral whatever that based drug is, that's in those the oral cut. Now, the spray works, but the oral part. They did a study in the seventies that said it worked, which is how they all got approved. But now they've redone the studies and they say it doesn't work with new methods, and that that when you take it your your your body breaks it down and makes it ineffective. And so they say that Nike will and all that stuff that people think works if you take it orally does not work, and they think it's a placebo effect, and that after fifty years we've taken nikewell when we're sick, that it actually doesn't work.

And I don't believe them, because I'm telling you, anytime I get sick, I don't care what it is. My go to is always dayquill, and I always feel better than next.

Okay, but maybe you would feel better. Not you'd still feel better. So if the act of the act of taking the day quill makes you feel like it's getting better, and it would have anyway.

I guess I waste it ten dollars on a bottle of day quill. I'll tell you what. Next time, though, I'm gonna tried. I just won't take it shot to see what happens.

Look, I'm not I'm not I.

Believe in day quill, man I do.

I'm just telling you that they've said now that that and the FDA is going to give its final word next week, but that for fifty years we may have all been taking this medicine, myself included, when you get sick, and that it may have always just not worked. They do say, if you take it as a.

Spray that works, I always do the syrup.

But the syrup and the pills don't work.

I think the FDA is sitting on a throne of lies. I don't believe one word you're saying. I was Shannon Man Nike will is the go to, and you feel WILL helps you sleep, which may then help you bet, but they're talking about the actual drug that is there to think.

They say it doesn't work.

Even musen X is a go to if you got a call or congest in your chest, boom when I go get it.

Why don't you I think Shannon's right, Why don't you next time just.

Not do anything? Not do anything if you die?

And I'm just telling you what the FDC and the only reason you're even getting to take it is because a long time the FDA, a long time ago, they said it did work, and now they say it it doesn't.

I just find it interesting.

It also proves why nobody believes anything because you got these knuckleheads going. I don't care what the signe says.

It worked. It works for me. It may not work for everybody else. It works for me, though.

All I've heard this entire time is class action lawsuit?

Where do I sign up?

I've spent a lot of.

Money on Nike Wave Man, spend a lot of money on Jake Will musing X. I think we should all get a fat payout.

You will.

Who's up next?

Wade is up next? Wade, go ahead, Wade.

Hey, guys, I was.

Just calling in to say that I usually don't love guests on the show.

I like hearing you guys talk, but yesterday was.

Just so fun hearing Deron and Marcus talk about all those stories.

Did you guys like Dorn and Marcus yesterday? I thought they were great and they seemed I was worried when they came. I was like, are these guys going to be into it? And they were. I think we could have gone the whole second hour with them. I thought they were great.

Yeah, And I tell you how happy it made me when they hate it on Terrence Jones rap song.

It made me so happy that they were like, no, this is awful.

You've been waiting on that for ten plus years. Yeah, but I appreciate Sarah. I thought it was I thought they were great. He's still there here, that's all he had to. By the way, we put the clip up of them saying they beat the Thunder online and it.

Went very viral.

There's a lot of people around the country not believing Marcus Drew that are not believing Marcus and Doron that they beat Lebron and KD.

I remember at the time when it had happened. It's the truth, and he confirmed it.

I'm with you.

I enjoyed how fun they were. They were kind of in a show when they were here, and now they're adults and used to doing all this. They were a lot of fun, and they even stayed. I stuck stuck around the bar after the show. They were there till about one o'clock, just hanging out. It wasn't like it was an inconvenience.

They were sitting there. They were sitting there drinking and eating the wings for a while.

I didn't have to hit the dump button one.

Time one time. That's the shock to me. I was certain. I asked n Lamb.

He Doran's been playing in Europe for a decade and I was like, where's your favorite city and he said it's tim Bull. I mean, if you had asked me when Doron Lamb was here in twenty twelve, will that man say he looks forward to living in is Stan Bull, I wouldn't have thought that.

We really could have talked to him for hours. I wanted to hear their stories about when they play overseas in some of these cities like that. But he's also cleared up. He doesn't sleep. That was another legend that which was true. It's true. Yeah, the legend about the game, the legend about Marcus Tigg and things that he did there. I love that interview yesterday.

By the way, I think he'd be okay with me saying this. Josh Hopp. The reason we know that story is Josh Hopkins was at that game. Josh Hopkins was watching practice the day it happened, and that's kind of how we found out that story existed.

Who's up next?

Matthew is next?

Matthew? Go ahead, Matthew, Yeah, I have a quest call man.

I love you guys, show and just the Duke game the other night. You think maybe we might be able to go undefeated. If not, there we go.

I love it.

I love it.

I appreciate the call.

Seven.

No, I do not think we'll be able to go undefeated, not at all.

I do think though the amount of losses Ryan in my mind, could be less. I mean I kind of had us like seven eight nine. Maybe now I would say four five six as more of the amount of losses. I think we lose at least one of the Clipson Gonzaga games on the road back to back.

I mean they showed us something. Man, we kind of said going into it, that's comedy olyptmus test and see how good the Kentucky team really is. We all walked away like this team can be really really good this year, but not undefeated. Not undefeated, print the T shirts forty and oh let's go.

If they did not gonna predict it.

But you know it's still on the table. Yeah, I mean there's a lot of tough road games we got.

We go to Alabama, h we go to Tennessee, we go to UH.

I think we go to A and M.

I mean we we got some we got some tough road games.

Got those Texas and Oklahoma trips. They're not as good, but it'll be the good thing for us is Auburn comes here. Yeah, we don't have to go there this year.

They can fun.

Arkansas comes to our place.

And Arkansas comes here, so a couple of the good ones only play here. And I think A and M is really the only good team we only play on the road. We'll take a break and be right back our number two. This is Kentucky's
